In 2007, I had the privilege of participating in a heartfelt initiative called " Passion for Sudan ".

I joined six other women and traveled to Sudan With a humanitarian organization called Canadian Aid (CASS) for Southern Sudan.

Our journey was made in an effort to help women in this area of the world rebuild their communities following 20 years of civil war.

This past January 2008, I returned to Sudan again. Denise Pelley, an aclaimed London, Ontario singer, and myself ran an eight day music and art camp for local children.

With the help of donated art supplies from Van Pelt's Office Plus and other contributors, our camp was a resounding success. The first day we had about 35 kids and by the end of our eigth day, we were up too about 100 kids.

The purpose of the music and art camp was to bring a new experience to the children.

We wanted to bring joy and laughter to the children of this war-torn region.
